Candace Carella
Project Manager & Writing Consultant
Candace learned to read at 3 years old and hasn’t put books down since. Frequenting libraries and bookstores, it’s safe to say Candace’s passions are rooted in the written word. Her love for all things literary led her to pursue a double-major in English Literature and History at Lakehead University, and her passion for helping others has always made her a go-to for editing and advising. Upon recognizing her dedication to lifelong learning, she completed a Master of Education through the University of Ottawa. Candace combines her best talents – writing, editing, and advising – for Northern Writing Consultants. When she isn’t wearing her Type-A hat and organizing or producing written work, Candace can be found . . . you guessed it – wandering around a bookstore with a coffee in hand.
Andra Tarta
Writing Consultant
Andra holds a BSc in Biomedical Science with a specialization in Psychology from the University of Guelph. Throughout her undergrad degree, Andra served the UofGuelph student community as a Writing Consultant for the university library Writing Centre. She’s worked with hundreds of students to improve their writing in a variety of settings, from one-on-one tutoring sessions to lecture and conference series. Needless to say, Andra is an expert in writing analysis across a breadth of disciplines and styles. Her keen attention to detail and client-oriented approach makes her one of our editing gurus. She’s equally at home with scientific pieces as she is with creating thoughtful, informative content for a variety of clients. Outside of work, Andra enjoys photography, scenic hikes, and anything social that gets her out of the house.
Lily White
Writing Consultant
A versatile copywriter, editor, and content creator, Lily has worked in writing consultancy since 2020. Lily holds an H.BA in Psychology from the University of Guelph and has extensive experience in research fields spanning language studies and law. At NWC, Lily uses her background and research expertise to craft informative, influential writing content tailored to our clients’ specific needs. With an eye for the latest fashion trends and a love for improving her French, Lily’s enthusiasm brings life into everything she does.
Lujayn Mahmoud
Writing Consultant
Lujayn’s experience with writing consultancy started in 2019, and she has helped clients across disciplines through individual coaching in the development of persuasive writing strategies. As a copywriter, Lujayn has a penchant for crafting insightful content, excelling in capturing tone and nuance in video scripts. Her background in Bio-Medical Science, Neuroscience, and Family and Child Studies gives her a natural command over a variety of genres and audiences. For leisure, Lujayn enjoys painting, baking chocolate chip cookies, and admiring nature.
